2019年05月16日下午,香港科技大学高福荣教授应邀在将军路校区bat365正版唯一官网1号楼403会议室做题为“Smart Manufacturing Plant Research Challenges and Opportunities”的学术报告。报告由bat365正版唯一官网副校长兼bat365正版唯一官网院长姜斌教授主持,bat365正版唯一官网的部分师生参加了报告会。
高教授开场先介绍了香港科技大学的优美景色以及自己的科研教学经历,风趣幽默的语言使得报告会的氛围轻松和谐。而后,高教授介绍了其团队在批次过程控制方面所完成的主要工作,针对批次过程需求与特性的四大矛盾,围绕批次过程“多、重、时、变”的独有特性,从建模、控制、监测与质量优化四个方面系统性地解决高性能控制问题。另外,高教授对中国制造业如何进入工业4.0时代分享了他的观点。他强调(1)需要具体手段连接虚拟与物理两个世界、(2)实现工业智能化的根本在于信息与决策。
高教授及其团队的系统性、开创性研究工作,对我国智能制造2025的具体工业实践以及航空、航天、民航领域先进制造的建设规划具有明确指导意义,让在场师生深受启发。最后,高教授与到场师生进行了交流互动,耐心解答了师生们所提出的学术问题并与到会师生代表合影。
附报告人简介:
Furong Gao is a Chair Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering. Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), and he was a Professor of Control Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University as a state“1000 Talent Scholar”. At HKUST, he serves as the Funding Head of Division of Advanced Manufacturing and Automation. Funding Director of Center for Polymer Processing and Systems, and South China Director of National Engineering Research Center for Industrial Automation.
Professor Gao received his BEng in Automation from China University of Petroleum in 1985, MEng and PhD both in Chemical Engineering from McGill University in 1989 and 1993 respectively. Before join HKUST, he works as a Senior Research Engineer in charge of Intelligent Process Control (IPC) group at Moldflow International Company ( now, a part of Autodesk Inc), Melboume, Australia. His research interest is in batch process automation and its polymer processing applications. To date, he has authored more 500 journal and conference papers, 6 books, and 70 patents.
